CK Life Sciences Bestowed Outstanding Biochemistry Technology Company Award by Capital Magazine

( January 28, 2005 – Hong Kong) CK Life Sciences Int'l, (Holdings) Inc. (CK Life Sciences) was named Outstanding Biochemistry Technology Company in the 5th Outstanding Enterprise Awards organized by Capital magazine.

A total of 11 leading life sciences companies were nominated for this year's Outstanding Biochemistry Technology Company Award. The winner was decided by a vote by the general public (40%), a professional panel of judges (40%), and the editorial department of Capital magazine (20%). CK Life Sciences achieved the highest aggregate score in the ballot and earned the honour of the Award.

The Outstanding Biochemistry Technology Company was judged according to seven criteria, namely: product safety; product efficacy; legitimacy of product efficacy; business performance; authenticity of product testing; technological levels and investment in product research and development. CK Life Sciences' ability to distinguish itself from other companies in the biotechnology field is testimony to its outstanding performance in market development, standard of research, product quality and development and business prospects.

Prof S F Pang, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of CK Life Sciences said, “We are greatly encouraged by the award of Outstanding Biochemistry Technology Company. This is evidence that the efforts we have put into our work in the past few years and our R&D results have been recognized by the community, providing us with the impetus to drive towards greater achievements in 2005.”

CK Life Sciences was established in 2000 and listed on the stock exchange in 2002. It has recorded rapid business progress and corporate expansion within a short period of time . In its short lifespan, CK Life Sciences has received a number of international awards and honours, for example being designated one of the world's 30 “2004 Technology Pioneers” by The World Economic Forum, which helped to introduce the expertise of local R&D and technological innovations to the international arena.

Prof Pang stated, “Ever since the establishment of CK Life Sciences, we have worked closely with the academic circle and international R&D institutions on studies targeting immunity, AIDS and cancer. We have collaborated with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Harvard Medical School, Cancer Institute and Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the China Cancer Research Foundation and The University of British Columbia. Results from various pre-clinical studies have indicated that the range of products developed by CK Life Sciences is able to enhance the immune system and suppress the growth of cancer cells. The satisfactory results demonstrate the feasibility of our R&D theories. These joint studies with academic institutes are instrumental in elevating local R&D to international standards and will facilitate its further development.”

Apart from the category of Biochemistry Technology, outstanding companies were named in 13 other categories including Banking, Insurance, Logistics, Telecommunications and Restaurants Management.
